At Mt. Chopok Fans of extraordinary cuisine will be searching for ‘a place where the wind is created’. The chef of the Bratislava restaurant Fou Zoo, Michal Konrád, with his team will be their hosts through this magic evening. At the culinary event at 1,670 m asl they will present a part of their new menu. The guests’ taste buds will be elevated above clouds not only by a snow-covered trail-grooming vehicle, but mainly by a five-course special menu. The guests will get to taste Hamachi, Salmon tartar, Modern nigiri, Beef filet, and Dragon egg. The heart of the Asian wind is arriving in a few days to the mountains with a guarantee of a great culinary experience.  “Thanks to the interesting idea of a nontraditional combination of Asian wind and Tatra Mountains guests will enjoy an interesting evening in the restaurant Von Roll directly on the ski slope. The only way to get there is by a specially adjusted trail-grooming vehicle. We believe that the atmosphere of an authentic location high in the mountains, which Von Roll Restaurant at 1,670 m asl possesses, is the highlight for fans of culinary indulgence, lovers of mountains and vacation in Jasná,” Lukáš Egreši, Low Tatras F&B manager, commented on the event.
Whether people can appreciate fine dining, chef Michal Konrád explains: “In northern countries, in Japan, or USA there are many award-winning restaurants, and people are used to dine at a high level.  In Slovakia it is more complicated because people are not used to dine in restaurants; and if so, then they go by the rule – the more on the plate, the better. I have to say, though, for the last couple of years the situation is improving; numerous quality restaurants have opened up; and among people one can find well-travelled guests who seek out sophisticated taste. Our guests vary. We get visits by celebrities or people who are well-off and want to enjoy good food in a pleasant setting. Or we get visited by food lovers who come to taste our new menu and who can appreciate our restaurant’s fusion concept, our creative team, and refined tastes. In doing so they know they are getting first-class quality and freshness, which they are willing to pay for.”
The luxurious Von Roll Restaurant in the ski resort Jasná is, besides a great cuisine, a guarantee of a unique atmosphere of a mountain museum. Experienced waiters always serve wearing gloves. The seal of quality was also recognized by culinary Oscars. At Gurman Award 2015 Von Roll Restaurant was awarded as the Best new restaurant. The restaurant boasts with two Slovak records and a golden medal for the best mountain restaurant in the quality evaluation of ski resorts Internationaler skiareatest 2013/14.
