The International Children´s Violin Orchestra led by Tereza Novotná will play under Mt. Lomnický štít for the first time ever. “Nature is a temple. And I hope that pieces of famous composers will sound in the area of Skalnaté Pleso as great as in a temple. My young musicians come from different countries but the concert will be easy to understand for all people. Because music is a universal language and no translator is needed. The Tatras are our national symbol. And with a non-traditional concert like this, we want to greet all Slovakia from a beautiful place, from Skalnaté Pleso. The international children´s violin orchestra is specific as there are only violins playing. Visitors who come to Skalnaté Pleso and its area will have a really unique experience. Our repertoire is rich, we play pieces of the Baroque genius – Bach, classical Mozart or the contemporary Canadian songwriter Leonard Cohen. I do the arrangement for all pieces by myself, I adapt the parts for lower instruments to the treble clef so that my children can play it,“  says Tereza Novotná about her project.

Tereza Novotná was playing the first violin in the State Philharmonic Orchestra of Košice for 15 years. Besides Slovakia, she performs and leads violin courses in Mexico and has travelled all around the world with various music formations. In order to organise meetings of young musicians from all around the world in the Slovak Tatras, she and her husband founded a civic association called “Husľový kľúč” (treble clef).

“Young virtuosi will help light up the area of Skalnaté Pleso and bring honest energy of children to the valley of Skalnatá dolina. The mountain resort of Tatranská Lomnica is happy to welcome this non-commercial activity of talented children. We hope that Tereza Novotná and her children will guarantee an extra experience for visitors who come to Skalnaté Pleso and add something special to the holiday of those who are heading for the High Tatras right now. Other non-commercial Fit & Happy activities in the High Tatras are free of charge as well and available during the whole summer. The only thing people need to do is to come and join the daily programme with professionals,“ said Juraj Chovaňák, the marketing director of campaigns and the High Tatras.
