The first day of the resort operation will be meant exclusively for season pass holders and a limited number of skiers who purchase their passes on www.gopass.sk. If these are sold out, no more ski passes will be available at resort ticket offices.

“Preparing precautions theoretically is one thing, applying them in practice is something else. So after having thought this through, we have decided to test the operation and prepared precautions with a limited number of skiers. This is how we want to confirm if all waiting lines and guiding of skiers from the moment they arrive at the resort until they board cableways are set effectively and properly. Among other things, the aim is to find out how long it takes to embark cableways if we follow all respective measures. It is a test of the resort, precautions and also skiers to see whether they are able and willing to respect all our precautions,” informed Igor Mráz, the resort general manager.

The main priority is to guide and regulate skiers in the resort so that they keep a safe distance from the moment they arrive at the resort until they board cableways, cover their noses and mouths, disinfect their hands. Refreshment will be served only outside. The resort is ready for the opening and has created several cableway boarding points in order to avoid that too many people gather in one place and to ensure that safe distances are kept. 8 cableways and 7 pistes with the total length of 9 km will be at opened on both sides of Mt Chopok. The capacity of cable cars will be limited.
