“À la française“ or “French style” will be the motto of the long weekend at the Grandhotel in Starý Smokovec. Not only a French tasting menu of chef Peter Pikovský but also original French cakes, desserts, flambé variations and original French breakfast will be prepared for gourmets who come to celebrate the French cuisine. “We have decided to join the project because we like the French-style kitchen. In our Art-Nouveau Grandhotel, we have a thematic restaurant called Lefèvre with an unforgettable atmosphere of high ceilings, luxurious crystal chandeliers and original wooden parquet elements. The French name of the restaurant indicates using a complicated style of service that emphasises the gastronomy experience and makes our guests feel taken care of. We hope that the guests of our historical hotel will appreciate the Goût de France/Good France 2016 event which presents high-quality gastronomy combined with TOP-class services. The celebration of French cuisine in our style will be supported by French confectioner Jean Charles, who will introduce his own French cakes. The menu will be served along with recommended French wines,” said Marek Koumal, the director of Grandhotel Starý Smokovec about the event.
“Visitors of the ,Taste of Franceʻ project will have a chance to taste everything from our tasting menu. There will be a local starter, local ingredients such as pork, chicken and beef meat from domestic breeds will be used to prepare the main course and chocolate desserts according to the French tradition will be served as well. Everybody can look forward to delicious food, high-quality service and a great atmosphere,“ commented chef Peter Pikovský.
The main programme is scheduled for Saturday 19th March, gastronomy dinner will be offered also on Sunday and Monday. There is an admission fee to the gala dinner and a casual dress code recommended. The event includes a free additional programme. The Saturday evening will be hosted by presenter Veronika Hatala, the repertoire will be inspired by French chansons, Anna Repková will sing musical and jazz songs with piano accompaniment and professional accordion player M. Balogh will present his talent as well. Everybody will get a small present – a caricature or thematic photo shoot while waiting. During the evening, guests will experience the typical French world of cabaret thanks to a professional dance performance and spectacular dance costumes. For more information, please click HERE
