“Jasná has great predispositions as for bike tracks that were renewed and innovated during the previous season. I am happy that we are succeeding in keeping this sports discipline alive as the interest in downhill, i.e. the top mountain cycling discipline is growing from year to year. We hope we will manage to be part of the European Downhill Championships series in 2016 thanks to the qualities of Jasná and the best DH track. We always try to attract professional bikers but also spectators who can enjoy really non-traditional experiences at our races. Jasná has the most attractive cable car of all which enables the spectators enjoy a direct view of the track and racers as well. The downhill is a respected discipline when looking at experienced bikers. The security measures on tracks in Jasná are on a high level. Those who want to get to the top must devote a lot of time to physical and technical preparation. In general, downhill is a rather young sport but it has been developing really fast in all respects. The SPDH 2015 race will welcome top bikers such as Martin Knapec, Rastislav Baránek, Adam Rojček and Attila Liszi,“ said Tomáš Vrbovský, the race director.

The 3rd round of SPDH 2015 is organised according to standard rules, there will be two qualification rounds for each of seven categories which will be followed by the finals. The adrenaline downhill starts in the locality of Rovná Hoľa (1,491 metres above sea level) and continues to Záhradky along the difficult black Rocky Face DH track. The track itself is 1,850 metres long, has a vertical drop of 463 metres and an average inclination of 28.42%. The race culminates on Sunday 28/6/2015 at 11:00am with semi-finals and finals. Those who prefer watching adrenaline to trying it themselves can enjoy reduced-rate 1-day tickets in the resort. For more details about SPDH 2015, please click HERE.
