“Every sale beginning means a chance to buy ski passes for any date of the season at the best prices. Skiers in our traditional resorts, i.e. in Vysoké Tatry, Jasná, Szczyrk (PL) and Špindlerův Mlýn (CZ) know that our ski pass prices are dynamic like in the case of flight tickets, which means the sooner they buy, the better is the price. We are well aware of the present-day situation too. That´s why specific guarantees have been added so that everybody who decides to make skiing plans can do so without worrying and can change their skiing adventures or holidays as they wish if there are any restrictions,” explained Čeněk Jílek, a member of the Board at Tatry mountain resorts, a. s. (TMR). Skiing fans will appreciate the less strict cancellation terms which will enable them to cancel their ski passes for free until 23rd December. After that, ski pass cancellation one day in advance will cost a symbolic EUR 1.

Dynamic pricing is an important tool to manage the ticket sale and turnouts in resorts on selected dates. “We are preparing ourselves for winter at full stretch and are now expecting longer cold periods to start with the snowmaking and prepare the pistes. The ski season beginning in Slovakia is planned for 4th December, when Štrbské Pleso in the High Tatras and the biggest and top modern Slovak resort – Jasná should welcome the first skiers if the weather is on our side and the COVID situation is skiing-friendly. After that, we would like to open the other resorts as well: Mölltaler Gletscher on 7.12., Špindlerův Mlýn and Tatranská Lomnica on 12.12., Szczyrk on 18.12., Ankogel on 19.12. and Ještěd on 26.12. We are paying great attention to precautions in all resorts to eliminate any risks and to guarantee safe skiing adventures to our clients,” added Juraj Chovaňák, the marketing director at TMR.

GOPASS introduces seven brand new resorts for the 2020/21 winter season so skiers can look forward to the modern Drei Zinnen resort in the Italian Dolomites and in addition to Mölltaler Gletscher and its sister resort of Ankogel Mallnitz, which are already well-known also to Slovaks, more Austrian resorts will be added: Grossglockner Kals-Maltrei, Heiligenblut, Innerkrems, Silian and St. Jakob. Their 1- to 6-day ski passes will be sold online at the best prices. “GOPASS will offer 489 kilometres of pistes in 14 ski resorts in 5 European countries in total. As for the new resorts, business cooperation has been entered into with their operators to sell their ski passes online via our GOPASS e-shop. This means that skiers can choose where to ski based on the conditions and discover the Tatras, the Krkonoše Mts., the Beskids, the Alps and the Dolomites,” explained Igor Rattaj, the Chairman of the Board at TMR.

Jasná, the biggest ski resort in Slovakia promises a lot of new things for skiers as well as tourists during the 2020/21 season. “The snowmaking system capacity has been enhanced, a 3km long cross-country skiing trail is being made near water reservoirs in the area of Zadné vody. Guests who stay at our hotels in Jasná and the Tatras can look forward to attractive packages with ski passes or single-use cable car tickets for tourists included. 40 new beds have been added to the Chalets Jasná complex. And the opening of the new Grocery Grand Shop will be a true delicacy. The shop in the Grand Jasná Hotel will offer top-quality local products and the best tastes of the region – fresh dairy and meat products, bread, baked goods and much more to please the taste buds of all gourmets. And last but not least, a new Cocktail bar has been created in the Pošta Hotel,” presented Igor Mráz, the general manager of the Jasná resort.

The Vysoké Tatry resort plans to increase the comfort and safety of visitors this season. “A technological innovation will be tested in Hrebienok – special antibacterial films applied to touch surfaces inside the funicular, at ticket offices, in the restaurant and in shops. Stricter rules and new precautions will be introduced in the Tatra Temple of Ice. One terrace of the car park in Tatranská Lomnica has been designated for clients to book their parking spaces online and to have a comfortable access to the resort guaranteed, no matter when they come. And Fast Passes will offer skip-the-line access to cable cars in Tatranská Lomnica and Štrbské Pleso for the first time,” informed Dušan Slavkovský, the general manager of the Vysoké Tatry resort.
