“We are pleased to be ranked among the top companies that disclose information according to best practices. On a regular basis TMR transparently reports on its business performance, its results, as well as on Corporate Governance, and it strives to comply with the Corporate Governance principles. The Tatra Mountains are our national treasure, thus, information disclosure of a company, which operates key tourist resorts, is not only mandatory, it is implied. This practice is appreciated also by our clients since the visit rate in our resorts has been increasing.” Bohuš Hlavatý, TMR’ CEO commented on the award.

CECGA evaluated transparency, scope, and quality of information that TMR has been disclosing in its annual reports, on its website www.tmr.sk, and in the Central Database of Regulated Information of the National Bank of Slovakia (CERI). 81 companies were the target of the association’s analysis. They were analyzed for scope, quality and availability of information on the companies’ Corporate Governance in relation to investors and shareholders.

“We evaluated companies that are listed on the Bratislava Stock Exchange. We gathered the information for the year 2013 from available reports in CERI, from the Register of Financial Statements, and from the companies’ websites. This year a new obligation was added for the issuer to file regulated information also with the Register of Financial Statements. The scoring criteria included mainly the filing of a current annual report in CERI, the content of accounting in the annual report, the quality of information, the structure of statutory bodies, disclosure of remuneration of members of boards of directors and supervisory boards, information on risk management, and the organization and activity of audit, nomination, and remuneration commissions.” Lenka Debnárová, an academic member of CECGA, stated.

CECGA follows development in the area of Corporate Governance in Slovakia and supports application of knowledge into practice. The prizes were awarded in Bratislava on October 21, 2014 for the third time, although this year in categories: Banks, Insurance companies, and Nonfinancial companies.
