There will be also riders from the USA, New Zealand, Slovakia, Poland, the Czech Republic and Russia to introduce themselves in the ungroomed freeride zone no. 3 called Chopok – Luková dolina. “This year will be the strongest one as for the participation. I hope racers but also spectators who come to Jasná will have a great adrenalin experience with the best of world´s best, besides the Alpine Junior World Ski Championships,“ said Matej Hulej, director of the CGC Jasná Adrenalin race.

CGC Jasná Adrenalin is one of seven races of the second highest category held within the Freeride World Qualifier (FWQ) series and rated with 3 of four stars, which are organised according to rules of extreme skiing races. The extreme downhill race is held on a highly exposed ungroomed slope within a demarcated area with natural obstacles. The track with a 400-metre vertical drop and a 35 to 50-degree inclination is rather difficult as for the style required. Judges focus on the jumps, choice of the track, fluency and technique, e.g. use of front flips.

The final race of the FWQ 2014 series will be held in Roldal, Norway on 24th April 2014.  The race in Jasná is organised by the Slovak Association of Freeride Skiers (SAFL), which was formed in 2002 aiming to unite people interested in freeride skiing. It organises the Jasná Adrenalin race every year and helps create conditions for this sport in Slovakia.
