Changes made inside the Tatra hotel legend are easy to be seen, smelled and tasted. Menus and drinks lists were completely changed. All lovers of culinary art will enjoy innovative creations made of local ingredients and herbs from the hotel garden. Guests can recharge their batteries with home-made herbal drinks and their positive effects on health and body.

The idea of alpine nature and its benefits was reflected in a new concept of the Grand Mountain Spa, which follows the Tatra spa tradition. This philosophy is now brought to other fields of the hotel as well. The top new offer begins with beneficial herbal baths and new aromatherapy massages under the outdoor gazebo offering unforgettable views of a Tatra valley. The choice of the massage oil is all up to the client. Herbs also help the guests sleep better due to special herbal pillows and eye masks filled with a unique herbal mixture designed for the hotel.

Since July 2013, Grandhotel Praha has been led by a new management led by Zdena Ryndová, who has long-time experience in the field of hotel industry and catering and worked e.g. for Inter Continental Praha, Zátiší Catering Group a.s., or on various governmental projects (Chairmanship at the Council of the European Union, NATO Summit).

The kitchen and its complete transformation have been taken care of by an old-new chef, a famous personality of Tatra gastronomy, Jaroslav Uhlár. He used to work in 4-star hotels in the High Tatras mainly and was trained in the Michelin restaurant “Le Grand Ecuyer“ in Cordessur Ciel, France, which he considers an experience of a lifetime. In his rich career, he would cook for Slovak presidents, NATO representatives and famous personalities such as Adriana Sklenaříková. He was given various awards including a Bronze medal of ”The Emirates Salon Culinaire 2010“ in Dubai or Erfurt.

Tatry mountain resorts, a.s. is a top subject in the field of tourism in Central and Easter Europe, which itself or via subsidiaries owns and operates attractive ski resorts and hotels in the area of the Low and High Tatras. These include the resort Jasná Low Tatras and the following hotels: Wellness hotel Grand Jasná, Tri studničky and Chalets Záhradky De Luxe. In the High Tatras, TMR owns and operates resorts Tatranská Lomnica, Starý Smokovec and the following hotels: Grandhotel Praha Tatranská Lomnica, Grandhotel Starý Smokovec, Hotel Slovakia and hotel FIS Štrbské Pleso. TMR also co‐operates the resort Štrbské Pleso and since the winter season 2012/2013 it has been leasing the mountain resort Špindlerův Mlýn in the Czech Republic in cooperation with SMMR, a.s.. TMR owns Tatralandia, the largest Slovak aquapark with all-year operation, which offers a lot of water and other entertainment in the Fun Park relax or in a special tropical hall with sea water. It also offers accommodation in bungalows and suites of the Holiday Village Tatralandia. TMR also owns and rents hotels Kosodrevina, Liptov and Ski&Fun Záhradky and Bungalows. More than 144 million Euros were invested by the end of 2012 in the already mentioned resorts, which helps increase the standard and visitor turnout in the Tatras. The TMR shares have been traded on three European stock exchanges – in Bratislava, Prague and Warsaw since 2012.
