The mountain resorts were closed by the operator on 25th October 2020 to increase the effect of adopted precautions. “We decided to close our cableways and hotels ourselves and informed about the planned reopening based on the situation development probably two weeks later. Now the time has come and we are ready to serve safely to our clients who want to relax in the mountains,” informed Dušan Slavkovský, the general manager of the Vysoké Tatry resort.

“On Friday 6th November, legendary Grandhotel Praha in Tatranská Lomnica is being opened in compliance with all adopted precautions. And on Saturday and Sunday 7th and 8th November, cable cars in Tatranská Lomnica are starting to operate again, including the Lomnický štít cable car, whose capacity will be reduced to 10 passengers,” added Lukáš Brodanský, the resort sales manager. Gastronomy facilities will be opened in accordance with the latest standards at the weekend too – the terrace of the Panorama Restaurant in Skalnaté pleso and the terrace of the Dedo Café on Mt Lomnický štít in the Tatranská Lomnica resort, plus the terrace of the Hrebienok Restaurant in Hrebienok. TATRY MOTION sports shops in Štrbské Pleso, Starý Smokovec and Tatranská Lomnica will be available as well.

Jasná is ready to welcome tourists from the regions of Liptov and Horehronie this weekend and at all other November weekends. “On Saturday and Sunday 7th and 8th November, the cable cars are going to operate on the routes Biela Púť – Koliesko – Priehyba – Mt Chopok and Krupová – Kosodrevina – Mt Chopok. In addition to that, clients can use the services of the Pošta hotel and suites in our mountain chalets that offer enough privacy and space for individual relaxation. As for the field of gastronomy, the Energy Bar in the Rotunda building and the terrace of the Pošta Hotel will be available too,” informed Jana Kňavová, the sales manager of the TMR resorts in Liptov.

The mountain resorts are getting ready for the weekend afterwards as well because many people might enjoy a long one as there is a Slovak bank holiday on 17.11. The Vysoké Tatry resort plans to open not only cableways in Tatranská Lomnica but also in Starý Smokoec (Hrebienok funicular) and Štrbské Pleso (Solisko Expres) then. Jasná will be available in the north and the south again. Details regarding the operation will be updated regularly on individual resort websites: www.jasna.sk and www.vt.sk.

All mountain resorts and related facilities will be operating strictly in compliance with the latest precautions. Individual measures and rules will be marked and displayed in the resorts clearly so that each visitor can contribute to nice moments in Jasná and the High Tatras by behaving responsibly.
