The highest located ski resorts in Slovakia still offer a lot of snow. As the state COVID traffic light system allows opening of ski resorts except cable cars from next week, Jasná and the High Tatras are getting ready. “The ski resorts of Jasná and Štrbské Pleso are going to be opened from 22nd to 25th April 2021. Every client must present a negative COVID-19 test taken less than 72 hours before, have their nose and mouth covered and follow all basic precautions. The ski resorts will be opened depending on the interest and conditions also the following weekend. If the development is positive, even the highest located piste in Slovakia – Lomnické sedlo might be opened as well,” said Matej Hulej from TMR.

The ski season was opened in Jasná on 5th December last year, in Štrbské Pleso one week later. In spite of strict precautions being respected, all resorts in Slovakia had to be closed from 1st January and the pistes have been available for ski touring fans ever since. As the COVID-19 pandemic situation is improving and the restrictions have been loosened, skiers and snowboarders can return to the pistes at the end of the season too.

In Jasná, only chairlifts in the north are going to be opened from 22.4.: 4-seater chairlift Biela Púť, 4-seater chairlift Koliesko – Luková, 2-seater chairlift Rovná Hoľa – Konský Grúň. The following pistes are going to be available: Luková – Priehyba, Konský grúň – Luková, Priehyba – Jasná, Rovná hoľa – Priehyba, Majstrovská, Biela púť, Turistická (5a).  As for Štrbské Pleso in the High Tatras, the Solisko Express chairlift is going to be opened together with the following pistes: Solisko, Interski, Esíčko and Turistická.

Ski passes will be sold at flexible prices, i.e. based on the interest and current conditions. The best ski pass prices are offered online on GOPASS.SK. “Smart Season Passes will be valid too.” said Matej Hulej, TMR sales and marketing manager in Slovakia.

Attractive hotel packages with ski passes included are going to be available from 21st April. In the High Tatras, clients can use the services of the FIS hotel in Štrbské Pleso, as for Jasná, the Pošta hotel and Jasná Collection mountain chalets are going to be opened from the same date. There are fixed rules as for accommodation – only guests with negative COVID-19 tests taken less than 72 hours can check in, a maximum of 2 adults from the same household can stay in 1 room, food and drinks are served in the form of room service or take away, hotel pools are available based on approved conditions.

In addition to the hotels in mountain resorts, accommodation is going to be offered also in the water parks of Tatralandia and Bešeňová from 22.4.2021 – in the Galéria Thermal Bešeňová hotel and Holiday Village Tatralandia. Selected pools will be opened for a maximum of 6 people at the same time with all current restrictions and precautions respected. Depending on the available water park capacity, the park can be used also by external clients who present negative COVID-19 tests.

Antigen testing sites will not be available in the Jasná and Štrbské Pleso resorts anymore so we suggest that skiers and other visitors get tested at the place of their residence or at any of available public testing sites. For the updated list of the testing sites, please visit the resort websites: Jasná (jasna.sk) or Vysoké Tatry (vt.sk).
