A rich programme is prepared for the 9th year of Snow Dogs on the piste of Čučoriedky. Families with children can try dog sledging and watch demonstrations of rescue operations with avalanche dogs made by the Mountain rescue service. The programme is offered at the interchange station of Štart and on the partly closed piste of Čučoriedky from 10:00am to 03:00pm. Children can feel like true explorers and join expeditions to near and far ice land corners. At 12 so called Pole to Pole stations, they can examine a rabbit labyrinth, fish along with an ice bear, test their eagle-like polar eyesight, create a husky dog sledge and find the way to a fox´s burrow. They will also learn something about musher´s work and the way dogs are fastened to sledges. The expedition participants can pick various gifts of nature, watch penguins, learn how to make polar knots, catch fish, follow the footsteps of inhabitants that live in polar areas and finally, how to conquer the North Pole. To enjoy the unique Eskimo weekend under Mt. Lomnický štít, visitors can take a comfortable cable car or use a marked tourist trail and make a family walk. A big dog run will be prepared for 50 Huskies, Malamutes and Samoyeds so that kids and their parents can enjoy musher rides and feel the speed of genuine dog sledges. Every child who brings a plush dog will get a present. Various competitions with great prizes are prepared as well and the event is free of charge. Please read more on www.vt.sk
