Visitors to the mountain resort of Jasná Low Tatras who get injured e.g. while performing a sports activity in Jasná will not need to drive a long way to the nearest hospital in Liptovský Mikuláš anymore. They can be provided complete medical care in the new medical centre located next to the ski slope of Biela Púť. “Our private medical facility is able to provide surgical – traumatological care to treat all kinds of injuries caused by sports and other activities. Specialised medical staff which are available every day including weekends and bank holidays include a surgeon, an anaesthetist, 1-2 nurses and a trained operator of the RTG device. There is a hall inside the medical centre, an RTG room, a surgery and a waiting room. Our anaesthetist administers general anaesthesia as well. Our facility is equipped with a defibrillator, a vital signs monitor etc.,” said Leo Černý, a physician from the medical centre in Jasná.
He went on saying that there were similar facilities operating for 14 years in five other locations, e.g. in the mountains of Krkonoše and Šumava in the Czech Republic. The medical centre in Jasná will be operating from Saturday 20th December 2014 every day from 9:00am to 9:00pm. There is a non-stop helpline: 00420 602 420 758 and 00421 910 783 111; or a land line number: 00421 44 563 08 02.
Although nature has been playing a truly unpleasant game with the operators of ski resorts this winter, the ski season in the Tatras continues. Chopok during the upcoming weekend. These will include the following ones on the northern side of the mountain: no. 1 Pretekárska Luková – Priehyba, no. 1a Pretekárska Priehyba – Záhradky, no. 1b Pretekárska Konský Grúň – Luková, no. 1c Pretekárska Chopok – Konský Grúň, no. 2 Májová and no. 13 Biela Púť. On the southern side of Mt. Chopok, skiers can use slopes of no. 31 Slnečná, no. 51 Predné Dereše – Kosodrevina and the black slope no. 33a called Zjazdárska. 7 cable cars and ski lifts are operating on Mt. Chopok in total. The High Tatras offer skiing in the resort of Štrbské Pleso, on the slopes of Esíčko, Interski, Juniorská and Turistická. As for Tatranská Lomnica, slopes from Skalnaté Pleso Generál, Esíčka, Čučoriedky Východ, Štart Západ and Štart Východ will be opened from Saturday 20th December 2014. This means there will be a total of 10 cable cars and ski lifts operating in the High Tatras from Saturday, including a funicular from Starý Smokovec to Hrebienok, which can be used to get to a newly opened attraction – the Tatra Temple of Ice.
