High Tatras (7th December 2022) The first skiing day of the 2022/23 winter season in the High Tatras is Saturday 10th December. Skiers can enjoy the pistes in Štrbské Pleso.
The High Tatras started to make snow already in the third week of November. Although the conditions and mainly temperatures have been changing ever since, the ski pistes are ready. “We have assured our skiers that the ski season begins on 10th December and want to keep our promise. The Interski, Junior and Turistická pistes will be at disposal on the first day of the new season. There is up to 50 cm of snow currently and the layer is growing thanks to the snowfall wave of these days. Our ski lifts and the Mostíky chairlift can be used for skiing on Saturday, tourists can also travel with the Solisko chairlift,” informed Peter Tomko, the resort general manager. More pistes will be opened in Štrbské Pleso step by step depending on the grooming and snowmaking situation.
