The winners of the 9th year of the most prestigious awards in the skiing business – World Ski Awards have been announced. The best nominees from individual countries included resorts operated by Tatry mountain resorts again.
For ski resort operators, getting a World Ski Award means the same as the fabulous “Oscar” Academy Award for film makers. It is prestige and commitment in one. Top resorts in Slovakia and the Czech Republic have defended their victories successfully for the 7th time in a row.
Jasná was awarded as “Slovakia´s Best Ski Resort 2021” among 9 nominees. “We are very happy to have defended the title and very proud that we could organise World Cup races last year again and welcome the best world female skiers including Petra Vlhová, who comes from the region. Top-level organisation, perfect pistes and the whole event proved that Jasná deserves to be among the best ski resorts. And we are still doing our best to keep improving – for next season, a new cable car between Biela púť and Priehyba which has been planned for long should be opened,” informed Jiří Trumpeš, the general manager of the biggest ski resort in Slovakia.
The “Best Czech Ski Resort 2021” award was given to the Špindlerův Mlýn ski resort.
“We appreciate the award very much. Although the times are not easy these days, we try to think ahead and keep improving the quality of our services. Besides smaller innovations that are meant to improve the comfort and skiing quality, we continue with our strategic project of interconnecting the Svatý Petr and Medvědín areas, which will move the whole resort one level up,” informed René Hroneš, the general manager of the Špindlerův Mlýn ski resort.
The World´s Best Ski Resort title for 2021 went to Verbiere in Switzerland.
World Ski Awards ™ is a prestigious award programme and a global initiative whose aim is to point out and acknowledge exceptional projects in the ski industry. Before the awards are announced, general public and various ski business professionals vote for several months and chose the best winter resorts all around the world by evaluating their infrastructure, scope and offer of services. The awards have been given since 2013.
