Vysoké Tatry/Jasná – 5th May 2022 The ski season ends in the ski resorts in the High Tatras and in Jasná on Sunday 8th May 2022. The highest located piste in Lomnické sedlo in the Tatranská Lomnica resort is opened every day until Sunday, the pistes in Štrbské Pleso and in Jasná will be available at the weekend too.
“The end of the season is meant mainly for die-hard fans who want to enjoy a few extra turns on spring snow and spend some moments in fresh air. On the other hand, the Tatras are already attractive for walking tourists and snow at higher altitudes makes spring hiking adventures more interesting for them. However, they have to take it into account when planning their trips,” informed Dušan Slavkovský, the general manager of the Vysoké Tatry resort.
In addition to skiing and hiking, the High Tatras will offer support programmes such as creative workshops for kids in Skalnaté Pleso, spring grilling, mountain carts on the road between the Štart interchange station and Tatranská Lomnica.
After the ski season ends, the cableways in the High Tatras and in Jasná will undergo spring maintenance. After that, cable cars and chairlifts in individual resorts will be available for walking tourists at weekends and then every day from 28th May (High Tatras) and 18th June (Jasná). The funicular of Hrebienok in the High Tatras, which has already undergone spring maintenance, will be operating every day without limits.
The ski season started in Jasná and Štrbské Pleso on 11th December, in Tatranská Lomnica on 18th December 2021.
