Almost half of Slovaks plan to spend their holidays in Slovakia this summer. In contrast, less than two-fifths of the population will enjoy their holidays abroad. However, the majority (75%) agree that they use various discounts or rewards related to their holidays. This is according to the latest representative survey of 365.bank.* The trend is also reflected in the popular Gopass loyalty programme and sales portal, which is entering the summer season with an attractive new feature. Thanks to the cooperation with 365.bank and Mastercard, it introduces a new package of exclusive benefits under the 365.Gopass brand.

The occupancy rates of accommodation establishments in Slovakia are gradually approaching pre-pandemic levels. While from January to April 2019, which was a record year in tourism statistics, 1.7 million tourists spent their holidays in Slovakia, the same period this year saw 1.6 million visitors. The data comes from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic.

To support tourism in Slovakia, local accommodation and gastronomy operators create various loyalty programmes and benefits. The leader in tourism in Slovakia, Tatry Mountain Resorts, a.s. (TMR), operates the Gopass programme, which connects travelling with leisure activities. Its app offers experiences such as ski passes, aqua passes, cable car tickets, accommodation, various experiential programmes and other interesting services from the TMR resorts portfolio that can be purchased online.

The Gopass portal is entering the summer season with an attractive new feature. Thanks to the cooperation with 365.bank and Mastercard, it brings a new package of exclusive benefits under the 365.Gopass brand.

“Every year, we strive to bring our clients new products and technological solutions that make their leisure activities in our resorts easier and more enjoyable. Our partnership with 365.bank and Mastercard aims to provide Gopass clients with even greater payment convenience. With this new feature, loyalty points or future cashback will be automatically added to the Gopass account or card of each client when paying with their regular or digital 365.bank card without the need to have the Gopass card with them,” said Zuzana Ištvánfiová, the Director of Sales and Marketing at TMR.

According to a survey by 365.bank, almost half of people will spend their holidays in Slovakia this summer, preferring to stay at home rather than go abroad. When it comes to financial behaviour, people place a high emphasis on using discounts during holidays. Up to 75% of the population uses various types of discounts. One-third of the cases is represented by discounts on attractions and water park entrance fees.*

“The main motivation for people to use discounts during the holiday season is to save money and also to afford more services and experiences. Therefore, we consider the connection with the Gopass platform a logical step that will bring our clients not only financial savings but also greater payment convenience and additional benefits. Our goal is to provide innovative solutions that simplify everyday financial operations,” said Tomáš Barbarič, the Head of Product at 365.bank.

From the technological point of view, 365.Gopass is based on a simple connection between the client’s Gopass account and their bank account at 365.bank, which holds a Mastercard. This will allow additional discounts and benefits to be obtained within TMR resorts.

“For a long time, and in cooperation with our partners, we have been striving to ensure that all Mastercard cardholders can pay safely, easily and quickly in a contactless way, while also receiving something extra. Whether in the form of benefits and discounts from retailers or access to unique experiences. I am pleased that in the case of 365.Gopass, thanks to the unique connection between Mastercard, 365.bank and TMR, all advantages come together in a comprehensive offer that will delight every user,” said Jana Lvová, the General Manager of Mastercard for Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
