In addition to good snowmaking conditions, there is also natural snow in the Low Tatras, which means the first metres of cross-country skiing trails could be opened. “We have used the 20-centimeter lawyer of new snow to groom the trail around the reservoirs in Zadné vody. The cross-country skiing track is prepared for all fans to be active individually in nature. With more snow falling, we will be adding more trails,” informed Jiří Trumpeš, the general manager of the Jasná resort. The biggest ski resort in Slovakia keeps making snow on the basic ski pistes to be ready to respond quickly if pandemic restrictions get loosened and to open the pistes along with cableways for the public.
The cross-country skiing trails in Jasná are groomed in cooperation with the Región Liptov regional tourism organisation. “Our mountain region is known not only for quality ski pistes but also very good cross-country skiing conditions. It has a big potential in our eyes, that’s why we initiate creating new trails and support the grooming of all trails and the idea of a new infrastructure around them,” said Darina Bartková, the general manager of OOCR Región Liptov.
