Following the anti-COVID-19 precautions, the mountain resorts in Jasná and in the High Tatras are being closed by the TMR company.
“We realise how serious the situation is and know that it can be handled only if we all act responsively together. That´s why we have decided to close all our establishments and facilities in Slovakia for the given period,” explained Dušan Slavkovský, the general manager of the Vysoké Tatry mountain resort.
Lovers of autumn hiking will not be happy about the development as this season is very popular due to stable weather and beautiful views. “We are very sorry about it but responsibility comes first. We will be monitoring the situation constantly and if it goes well and the restrictions will be loosened, we will be very happy to open our mountain resorts again,” added Igor Mráz, the general manager of TMR resorts in Liptov.
As for the High Tatras, the closure applies to all cableways and facilities in the resorts: Tatranská Lomnica, Smokovce, Štrbské Pleso and to accommodation establishments: Grandhotel Praha, Grandhotel Starý Smokovec, FIS Hotel.
In Jasná, the closure applies to all cableways and facilities in the resort and to accommodation establishments: Grand Jasná Hotel, Pošta Hotel, Tri Studničky Hotel, Srdiečko Hotel, Rotunda Hotel.
If the overall situation improves, the accommodation establishments could be opened from 8th November.
The mountain resorts including the cableways could operate again from 6th November if everything goes well.
