Mölltaler Gletscher, the only glacier in Carinthia, is reopening on 22nd May 2021 and should be at disposal for recreational skiers as well as professional clubs from then. The reopening results from announced loosening of pandemic restrictions related mainly to accommodation and other services that are crucial for clients coming from locations further away. “Nowadays, we have 3 metres of snow on the pistes, which together with stable weather guarantees great moments on the glacier. We will do our best to adapt our operation to satisfy the interest of skiers as much as possible and to ensure unforgettable skiing adventures to them for several weeks. Walking tourists will love it here too. They can feast their eyes on beautiful summits of three-thousanders in the area or enjoy coffee on the terrace of the panoramic Eissee restaurant,“ said Max Gottfried, the resort general manager.
Skiers can use the Mölltaler Gletscher Express funicular, the Gondelbahn Eissee cable car, the 6-seater Gletscher Jet chairlift or the 3000er chairlift depending on the current conditions. The ski pistes: Schareck 1, 2, 3 are going to be opened.
