The International Ski Federation informed about the change today on 6th March 2020, i.e. exactly 4 years after the World Cup 2016 and one year before the planned WC 2021, which is really symbolic. According to the explanation that has been sent to the Slovak Ski Association (SSA) and the event organiser – Tatry mountain resorts, a.s. (TMR) company, the rescheduling is the result of integrating races in Asia and other related circumstances. SSA and TMR have accepted the announced change without reservation. “We are very happy to see the Jasná resort be trusted again by FIS and SSA to host top-class races after having successfully organised the World Cup in 2016. This means that after 5 years, Jasná will get another chance to welcome the best slalom female racers of the world including Petra Vlhová. We hope we will prepare top conditions for the skiers as well as their fans, and make a great impression on the skiing community not only thanks to flawless organisation and management of the event but also various special activities that we are planning,” said Matej Hulej, the resort general manager.
The events of the World Cup 2021 weekend in Jasná will be technical again – slalom and giant slalom, i.e. the same combination as in March 2016, when Jasná was happy to welcome the female skiing elite after a long break.
