This year’s summer holiday season will begin with the Szczyrk Mountain Resort unveiling another major new attraction for visitors. The Salamandra Alpine Coaster is the most advanced all-season gravity coaster in the Beskids, offering a thrilling mix of adrenaline, spectacular scenery and safe family fun.
The new attraction has been built on the site of a former ski lift, with the starting point located at picturesque Hala Skrzyczeńska. Adventure seekers can look forward to an exceptionally dynamic track stretching almost 750 metres. The descent delivers a true rollercoaster of emotions: the carts race just above the forest canopy before soaring as high as 15 metres above the ground moments later. The route features a number of dramatic elements, including 360-degree and 720-degree loops as well as a series of sweeping bends and twists.
Speed under control and breathtaking views
Although the Salamandra Alpine Coaster can reach speeds of up to 40 km/h, every rider can adjust the pace individually using the built-in brake system. That means the experience can be anything from an adrenaline-fuelled descent to a more relaxed panoramic ride with some of the finest mountain views in the entire region of the Beskids.
The two-seater carts, inspired in both style and colour by the mountain salamander, are ideal for families and couples alike. The project has been designed and delivered by Wiegand, the world-leading manufacturer of alpine coasters and gravity rides, guaranteeing the very highest standards of quality and engineering.
Safety at the highest level
The creators of the attraction have paid close attention to every detail:
- It is physically impossible to unfasten the safety belts during the ride.
- An intelligent motion-control system automatically maintains safe distances between carts, fully eliminating the risk of collisions on the track.
