“Multiple-day Winter Passion group lessons are ideal for children from 6 years, absolute beginners and also intermediate skiers and snowboarders. They guarantee every participant, young or adult, learns how to ski or snowboard and can ride down an easy blue slope alone and safely after the course. Our aim is to educate generations of skiers at young age by using games and descriptions which children are familiar with very well. Kids do best when they are in a group and under the guidance of an experienced instructor. All Winter Passion courses offered in individual resorts begin on Sunday and Monday,” explained Vanda Záhradníková, the manager of the Tatry Motion ski school.

“People are becoming less and less interested in skiing in alpine resorts because it is expensive and there are also other alternatives how to spend leisure time in winter. In Slovakia, skiing is very popular, 18% of the whole population is active on skis and the number of skiers who use our resorts in the Tatras is increasing year by year. The model of Winter Passion lessons is available for everybody and it is especially its revolutionary low price that makes it attractive. All people who would like to learn skiing should entrust themselves into the hands of professionals. The instructors see their job as a mission, which is a completely different motivation,” added Ivan Dic, the business development director of Tatry Motion.

Parents should not forget about high-quality skiing equipment and ensure that every child under 15 years of age has visible reflective elements when on ski slopes as well as a properly buckled ski helmet. The spring school holidays are meant for relaxation and taking a break from school duties. The High Tatras offer 24 km of ski slopes, Mt. Chopok offers 49 km. Beginners can use pistes of Jakubkova lúka in the resort of Starý Smokovec with 70cm of snow these days, there are very good conditions on 100cm of snow on blue pistes in Tatranská Lomnica and Štrbské Pleso, the northern and southern side of Mt. Chopok in the Low Tatras offer 35 to 60 cm of snow. The resort of Jasná also features an attractive Fun Zone with various obstacles, tunnels, bridges and wavy terrain where all age groups can enjoy themselves while skiing. A 2.5km-long sledging track in Hrebienok in the High Tatras and snow tubing guarantee a lot of fun for families with children. Kids can also admire frozen beauty in the Tatra Temple of Ice, ice sculptures of the Tatry Ice Master event and they can also visit the restaurant of the Hrebienok hotel, where a big exhibition hall with the most popular toy bricks in the world is prepared. The ski resort of Štrbské Pleso offers ideal conditions for learning the first curves in the best ski school called Tatry Motion. A fenced off arena called Maxiland has an own conveyor belt and a rich animation programme with mascots. Parents can register their children for 4- and 5-day Winter Passion courses with 2.5 hours of skiing per day in Tatry Motion ski schools in the ski resorts of Tatranská Lomnica and Štrbské Pleso in the High Tatras and in the resort of Jasná in the Low Tatras.
