“The first Dragon Night full of ghosts, magicians, witches and other fairytale creatures and characters was successful and the weather was just perfect from the very morning. Mt. Chopok was full of people. More than 1,200 visitors, mainly families with children, were enjoying beautiful panoramic views from the altitude of 2,004 metres and a romantic sunset on Mt. Chopok. We are really happy that the symbol of the valley Demänovská dolina was brought to life and our Damian is really popular with children. Their excited and beaming faces spoke volumes,“ said Sylvia Artzová, the marketing director for campaigns and the Low Tatras.
Damian the Dragon is having a break until he is ready to fly over Mt. Chopok. So for now, he has been kept busy with his own territory – the Dragon Park. Small discoverers can follow his footsteps there. The best of them can even find indicia and uncover a hidden dragon treasure. “The Dragon Park is a family game in nature. Children follow an educational trail and learn about the guardian of our valley. They are given special Dragon Park workbooks in information centres and at ticket offices on both sides of Mt. Chopok. And besides riddles and mysteries to solve, there are many attractions for children in the park area – a wooden obstacle course, a dragon tower, a dragon climbing frame, cheerful letters, a climbing wall, a bungee trampoline, an inflatable castle, a dragon egg, original wooden swings, toboggans, a children´s library and sculptures of Tatra animals. Children will not only meet a Tatra dragon in our resort but they will also learn about natural treasures of the valley Demänovská dolina. That´s how we motivate them to hike and love nature,“ added S. Artzová.
The map of the Dragon Park includes details for small discoverers that will help them find ten attractive stations. They get indicia for finding the treasure of the Dragon Park after every task they solve. And those who solve at least three tasks can look forward to attractive rewards. On 30th August, at the end of the summer holidays when kids start preparing themselves for school again, they can enjoy the second Dragon Day in the Low Tatras. The sky above Mt. Chopok will be full of kites setting out for a long dragon journey.
