“The ski resort in Tatranská Lomnica launches the season on the pistes between Čučoriedky and Tatranská Lomnica and with the chairlifts between Tatranská Lomnica and Štart and between Štart and Čučoriedky, and the cable cars on the routes: Tatranská Lomnica – Štart, Štart – Skalnaté Pleso, Skalnaté Pleso – Mt Lomnický štít. Walking tourists can use the cable cars as well. All cable cars can operate with the maximum capacity of 25%,”said Dušan Slavkovský, the general manager of the Vysoké Tatry resort.
The ski resort is at disposal for COVID-19 vaccinated and recovered clients (VR mode) and all related documents will be checked at ticket offices and resort entrance points. Ski passes and cableway tickets can be purchased at the best prices online on gopass.travel in advance. The resort will be opened every day from 8:30am to 3:30pm. To minimise potential collisions, the pistes in Tatranská Lomnica will be at disposal for ski tourers from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. The resort operator hereby asks all ski tourers to respect the safety rules and trail markings.
Gastronomy will be available based on current pandemic measures and in the form of take-away. This will apply to the Humno restaurant (take-away and delivery), Après-ski bar, Štart Pizza & Pasta, the café in Skalnaté pleso, Dedo café on top of Mt Lomnický štít and Hrebienok restaurant. Tatry Motion sport shops and rentals in the resorts will be opened as well.
Cars can park at the terraced car park in the Tatranská Lomnica resort. The parking fees will be the same as the local government collects at all other chargeable car parks in the town of Vysoké Tatry, including the car park next to the Tatranská Lomnica cable car station. “Skiers with ski passes can park at our car park with 30% off, Smart Season Pass holders can park for free,” said Dušan Slavkovský. Comfort parking is a special new service that will be available from Christmas and includes a limited number of parking spaces that can be booked and paid in advance to have parking guaranteed anytime during the day.
The Štrbské Pleso resort has offered the pistes: Interski, Turistická and Junior with ski lifts and the Mostíky chairlift since last weekend. In Starý Smokovec, the funicular operating to Hrebienok is at disposal, so is the 2.5km-long sledge track next to it and the Tatra Temple of Ice in Hrebienok, inspired by the idea of pilgrimage and the cathedral of Santiago de Compostella this year, is opened too.
