TMR will continue operating the Ještěd Ski Resort for the next decade. On Monday, 20 June 2026, the company officially informed the Town of Liberec, from which it has leased the resort since 2017.

“All of our investments to date have proven worthwhile, as confirmed by the past winter season, which ranked among the most successful in the resort’s history. For the first time since TMR took over the operations, we were able to open the season as early as the end of November, which contributed to record visitor numbers. We want to build on that success. Our priority for the coming years will be investing in a tourism and sports infrastructure that can be enjoyed year-round,” said Max Gottfried, Director of International Operations at TMR.

Important factors influencing the TMR’s decision-making included not only the publicly announced plans regarding the reconstruction of the iconic Ještěd transmitter tower, but also preparations for the construction of a new cable car.

“We are convinced that, through constructive cooperation with the local authorities, we can transform Ještěd into a sought-after year-round mountain resort over the next ten years – one that will provide residents, visitors, the town and the wider region with an exceptional leisure, recreation and sport destination,” added Gottfried.

TMR has invested more than CZK 150 million in the development of the resort to date. The most significant project was the construction of the entirely new Nová Skalka family ski piste, which was launched in the 2020/21 winter season. A year later, the piste was further enhanced with a state-of-the-art floodlighting system. Other key investments include the unique TechnoAlpin SnowFactory technology, which enables the Ještěd Ski Resort to produce and store sufficient snow even during periods of above-freezing temperatures.

The Ještěd Ski Resort boasts a long sporting tradition and a strong reputation as an urban ski destination with a uniquely large catchment area. Its appeal as a year-round resort is further strengthened by excellent accessibility within the North Bohemian region. The resort features 33 hectares of ski slopes catering to all ability levels, served by three cable cars, five ski lifts and conveyor belts for beginner skiers. Ještěd is also home to a bike park with two flow trails and a dedicated skills zone. Recreational cyclists can enjoy 13 kilometres of cycle routes in the surrounding area.

TMR has leased and operated the resort since 22 December 2017 under a ten-year lease agreement that included an option for a further ten years. The company has now exercised that option.
