Tatry mountain resorts, a. s. (TMR), which owns and operates leisure and mountain destinations across four European countries, is set to leverage its expertise as a consultant and a potential partner in the development of mountain resorts in Serbia and Romania.
A recent visit to Serbia marked a continuation of high-level discussions with representatives of the country’s Ministry of Tourism. “We are exploring opportunities to enter into cooperation with Skijališta Srbije – three state-operated Serbian resorts, where we are seeking the most effective model of collaboration for the operation of these modern ski resorts. We greatly appreciate the professional approach of all partners involved who have demonstrated a genuine commitment to the development of their mountain destinations – from central government representatives to local authorities. This is a key prerequisite for the potential success of any development projects,” said Igor Rattaj, Chairman of the Board of TMR.
Romanian guests have long ranked among the top five nationalities visiting Slovak mountain resorts, prompting the company to respond positively to an invitation from Romania to further explore opportunities in that market. “At the invitation of the President of Bihor County, we visited the region’s principal mountain destinations with strong development potential – Vârtop and Stâna de Vale, both located close to the Hungarian border, which opens up additional opportunities for cross-border synergies. The Romanian side has asked us to prepare an initial assessment of the development potential of both resorts, followed by recommendations. We will also be seeking to participate in the preparation of a detailed master development plan,” added Jiří Trumpeš, General Manager of the Jasná mountain resort.
