High Tatras/Jasná (27th April 2023) Long weekends will still be all about spring skiing in the mountains. Resorts in the High Tatras and Jasná plan to be open for next two long weekends (29th April – 1st May and 6th May – 8th May).
The ski pistes in Štrbské Pleso and Lomnické sedlo (saddle) in the High Tatras are going to be available during the next long weekend (Saturday – Monday). “As for Štrbské Pleso, the Solisko, Turistická and Junior pistes will be open and so will Lomnické sedlo in Tatranská Lomnica. Besides skiers, other visitors and families with kids can enjoy themselves too and join various interesting activities,” informed Dušan Slavkovský, the general manager of the Vysoké Tatry resort. There will be activities and a concert for children, spring specialities in restaurants and if the conditions are good, also amusing mountain carts between Štart and Tatranská Lomnica from 1st May. Outside the above mentioned long weekends, the cable cars in Tatranská Lomnica are undergoing planned spring maintenance until 19th May, the Solisko Expres chairlift in Štrbské Pleso is going to be open at weekends until 9th June. Only the funicular between Starý Smokovec and Hrebienok runs in the High Tatras every day.
In Jasná, spring skiing is planned for the northern as well as southern side of Mt Chopok. “The groomed pistes of Chopok – Priehyba and Chopok – Kosodrevina will be open for skiing and the cable cars there will be available so that skiers as well as regular tourists can travel to Mt Chopok from the regions of Liptov and Horehronie,” informed Jiří Trumpeš, the general manager of the Jasná resort. Cable cars in the resort are undergoing spring maintenance on working days, but they are going to be available in May at weekends and on May holidays.
There is from 30 to 150 cm of snow on the opened pistes in Jasná and the High Tatras. Skiers as well as other mountain resort visitors can use the special offer of accommodation with ski passes or cable car tickets and water park tickets (Tatralandia, Bešeňová) included in the price.
