From Friday 24th June to Sunday 26th June, the most difficult downhill Rocky Face track in Jasná will welcome the best bikers from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Austria, England, Russia and Kazakhstan. Last year, the 1,850 metre-long track with a vertical drop of 463 metres was completed within less than 3 minutes. “Let´s see if the bikers manage to break the track record. This year is really special as besides the traditional Slovak Cup, Jasná will be hosting also the Hungarian Cup. Top-class riders will be competing to gain victory: Jozef Ondič, Rastislav Baránek, Adam Rojček Jr., Stanislav Sehnal, Attila Liszi, Vlasťo Hynčica, Rastislav Štencel, Peter Drábik. On Sunday 26th June, downhill cycling will know the winners of the Slovak and Hungarian downhill rounds as well as the Slovak downhill champion. The bikers can also accumulate points for the prestigious World Cup, which happens in Slovakia for the first time,“ said Tomáš Vrbovský, the race director.
The 3rd round of the Slovak Downhill Cup is organised according to official rules in seven categories (women, pupils, masters, hard trail, hobby, juniors, men elite). The semi-finals take place at 11:00 am, the finals at 1:00 pm. The race takes place at the altitude of 1,491 metres near the upper station of the 6-seater chairlift of Záhradky – Rovná Hoľa B1. The attractive sports performance can be observed also from the chairlift as it runs right above the track. On Saturday, visitors can enjoy trainings and on Sunday the race itself. Small bikers can discover the beauties of the bike park in Jasná as well – in a new Maxiland summer park, which is actually a replica of the big bike park with easy obstacles on a large area.
