In cooperation with the Forests of the Slovak Republic and under the supervision of their experts, 22 employees of the Jasná mountain resort were planting trees near the Hlboká valley, in the area between Tále and Srdiečko and in the locality of Srdiečko – Krupová on Thursday 16th April 2020 while taking all necessary precautions. The tree planting project was joined by the cableway, snowmaking, hotel, gastronomy and shop staff. 1,800 young trees could be planted in the course of two days, mainly spruce and fir species. “I think we have successfully mixed business with pleasure. The needs of foresters have been met, our people have helped restore forests and we could give them something useful to do in times when our resorts are still closed for preventative reasons. We are happy to hear that our country has found a way how to support large employers too and we will try to repay the society for what we are getting. This is definitely a better solution than sending people to employment offices. In this way, nature will profit and so will the people,” said Igor Rattaj. After finishing the planting on the southern side of the ridge of the Low Tatras, the Jasná employees would like to continue on the northern side too. “We are discussing the issue with respective forest owners but will have to wait a bit because there is still a lot of snow on the slopes,” informed Matej Hulej, the general manager of the Jasná resort.
