Racers competing in Red Bull Homerun can register and pick up their race numbers in the ski resort of Tatranská Lomnica from 8:30 – 14:30. They need to be ready for the start at the upper chairlift station of Čučoriedky by 16:00. Once the starting gun fires, they will have to complete a 50-metre sprint to grab their equipment and ski down the slope as fast as they can. “We have something new this time – a final downhill of 300 racers along an ungroomed track. To be safe, it is better to use the snowplough technique than get hurt. The race is rather about fun, not so much about sport. What we care most about is that all racers cross the finish line without getting injured,“ said Andrea Zererová, communication manager of Red Bull Slovakia.

After the mass downhill, there will be a big Aprés-ski party with DJ-mio prepared for all participants and spectators right on the slope, in the largest Aprés-Ski Bar in Tatranská Lomnica at 17:00. For more information please visit http://www.vt.sk/aktivity/eventy/redbull-homerun/.

Red Bull Homerun continues on 22nd February 2014 in the ski area of Špindlerův Mlýn and on 29th March 2014 in the resort of Jasná, Low Tatras, on the slope of Otupné (start at 16:00). For more information about Red Bull Homerun on Mt. Chopok, please visit http://www.jasna.sk/aktivity-a-eventy/eventy/red-bull-homerun/.

Red Bull Homerun is a follow-up of successful mass downhill races called Red Bull Downhill in the First Lane, which were held on Mt. Chopok and Tatranská Lomnica in previous years. In 2013, there were also bikers to join skiers and snowboarders at the extreme downhill in Jasná. Even the best Slovak mountain biker, Filip Polc, tried the downhill on red slopes under Mt. Lomnický štít two years ago.
