All mountain lovers will be happy to participate in the eight “episode” of the well-liked Green Chopok event, this time of its autumn version. The big autumn cleaning on the pistes of Jasná can be joined again by any volunteers from the northern as well as the southern side of Mt Chopok on Friday 25th September. The application form can be downloaded on www.jasna.sk.
The event participants will be rewarded not only with a good feeling but also with several presents. “Each of our volunteers will get a Green Chopok face mask, lunch and a 1-day spring ski pass,” explained Jana Kňavová, the general manager of TMR resorts in the region of Liptov.
Event participants on the northern side of Mt Chopok can register next to the Happy End restaurant in the area of Biela Púť. “The volunteers will be divided in small groups that will be cleaning the areas of Biela Púť and Otupné, others will be cultivating the terrain around snowmaking water reservoirs. The day will be crowned with delicious lunch in Happy End. As for the northern side, the morning registration will take place in the area of Krupová. The volunteers will start to clean there and walk up to Kosodrevina, where they will enjoy their lunch afterwards,” added Jana Kňavová.
The Jasná mountain resort organises the Green Chopok event in cooperation with volunteers and tourism organisations – OOCR Liptov and OOCR Horehronie. All necessary anti-COVID safety precautions will be observed during all activities of the event.
Tonnes of waste were collected by volunteers in the previous Green Chopok years, tens of thousands of trees were planted in cooperation with local land owners.
