The biggest ski resort in Poland began to make snow on 25th November and used good weather as much as possible to prepare the ski pistes for a full-on season beginning. Natural snow helped as well and has created a beautiful winter atmosphere in the resort.
“I hope that the upcoming season will be full of smiling faces, positive emotions and great snow conditions! And I believe it will be the best season in the history of Szczyrk and skiers and snowboarders can enjoy mountain freedom on almost 40 km pistes safely,” said Michał Słowioczek, the marketing and sales director of Szczyrk Mountain Resort.
From 11th December, all lovers of “white madness” can zip down the most picturesque pistes in Szczyrk, i.e. piste 3b with the B5 chairlift operating to Zbójnicka kopa and piste 2 with the ski lift operating to Małe Skrzyczne. The A1 cable car will be available only as a means of transport to get to the opened pistes.
Tthe Szczyrk mountain resort promises a lot of fun to families with kids in the new season. The Academy of Max the Bear has a new version – with group ski courses for kids (weekend and 5-day ones) and older children can improve their skiing technique including skiing between gates at the Sports Academy of Max the Bear. In addition, there is also a new K2 Skitouring Academy project. “If you want to feel free in the mountains, walk up to the peaks of the Beskids and feast your eyes on their snow-covered slopes. We are ready to teach you everything that you need to know about this kind of skiing. You will learn about the equipment as well as the technique for various types of terrain. We can show you how to use the ABC avalanche set and how to avoid avalanches if you want to climb to mountains that are higher than the Beskids,” summarised Rafał Michalik, the head of the Szczyrk Motion department.
At the altitude of 1,000 metres, there is the gem of a restaurant in the region – KUFLONKA. The spacious interior combines modern style with the mountaineering tradition and panoramic views of the Beskids. Delicious gastronomy and aromatic coffee are popular with all skiers. „The Gronie SKI & BIKE hotel, which is located only 150 m from the resort cable car, offers an attractive FREE SKI product like resorts in the Alps do. Until Christmas, free ski passes will be included in accommodation prices for all winter sports fans,” said Katarzyna Przybyła, the general manager of the SMR gastronomy and the Gronie Hotel.
In addition, free ski busses will return again to Szczyrk in the upcoming season. “I am very happy to announce that a free public transport solution has been found. It will cost us about PLN 320,000. Szczyrk is the biggest ski resort in the country, so we cannot leave local inhabitants and clients of our resort without this service. This means the time-tested project from 2 years ago that offered comfortable transport to ski pistes and was eco-friendly continues again. Last but not least, we plan extra products such as night skiing and New Year’s Eve skiing,” concluded Grzegorz Przybyła, the general manager of the Szczyrk Mountain Resort.
