The youngest cable car and oldest chairlift are going to celebrate their birthdays this Saturday 22nd December.

“All resort visitors can look forward to great fun with an energising drum show that will launch the birthday celebration and a fabulous après ski party. We will blow out the candles on an atypical cake together and the event will be presented by Marek Poliak. There will be competitions, Wolf mascots and face painting for kids,” said Ing. Petra Ridzoňová Hlásniková, the CEO of OOCR REGIÓN HOREHRONIE (regional tourism organisation).

Skiers and other tourists can use a special “ski bus for cross-country skiers” to travel from Brezno, Mýto pod Ďumbierom, Bystrá and Tále to the ski resort this year again. “Everybody can try how it feels to be a musher for a while and test dogsleds. Precious ski sport jewels of the only Slovak ski and cableway museum of Podkonice will be introduced by Igor Bobák in the area of Krupová,” said Mgr. Kristína Šajgalíková, the marketing manager of OOCR REGIÓN HOREHRONIE.

“The season of 2019 will be jubilee also for the oldest Von Roll chairlift on the southern side of Mt Chopok, whose museum is located on the slope in the area of Kosodrevina. Our beauty is going to celebrate 65 years,” said Ing. Ivan Temniak, the COO of the cableways at Chopok South.

Tourists can ask more details about the event in the village of Bystrá, where a new tourist information centre TIC Horehronie has been created in a peculiar wooden house full of regional products, craft creations, atypical souvenirs, dairy products and distillates of the Horehronie region.
