The rapid slump in ski pass prices in the Tatras means that when compared to the golden week, 1-day ski passes to the resort of Vysoké Tatry cost €10 and more if purchased via GOPASS 30 days in advance. “FLEXI prices are ideal for enjoying spring skiing adventures at truly attractive prices. The motto of the season is still working – the earlier the clients plan their skiing, the better ski pass prices they can get. As skiing can be really magical in the High Tatras in spring, this is a unique chance how to enjoy sunbathing on skis under beautiful peaks,” said Lukáš Brodanský, the sales-marketing manager of the resort of Vysoké Tatry.
The system of flexible prices was introduced by the Tatry mountain resorts, a.s. company before this ski season. The resorts of Jasná, Štrbské Pleso and Tatranská Lomnica were the first to use it in Europe along with a few Swiss resorts. Dynamic rates count to big trends in the USA and were created in order to manage the selling process of ski passes and thus the number of clients in resorts on selected days directly. The effectiveness of the method was obvious during the so called golden week when the traffic did not collapse at any resort in the Tatras despite the chronically insufficient infrastructure and clients could enjoy skiing comfortably and safely as the pistes were not overcrowded. If the capacity of the resorts in the Tatras does not change and problems regarding the traffic and movement of visitors remain unsolved, increasing ski pass prices will be the only way how to handle a big influx of clients in future.
