We can finally enjoy skiing that the locals are used to. The snow cover is getting thicker, the weather is improving, and mountain resorts can keep on opening further ski slopes. From Saturday 18th January 2014, skiers will enjoy the slope of Solisko in the resort of Štrbské Pleso. And those who use the special 1-euro skiing offer can frolic on freshly groomed slopes in the morning. For more information please visit: http://www.vt.sk/hory-a-dovolenka/novinky/1812014-spustame-zjazdovku-solisko-ranna-lyzovacka-za-1EUR/. Other popular well-groomed slopes are open as well: Interski, Esíčko and Turistická. And the last difficult slope in line – Furkota should be opened next weekend. Tatranská Lomnica plans to open red slopes leading down from Skalnaté Pleso, i.e. the slope of Čučoriedky and a new red slope – Esíčka, both above the mid-station Štart. Jasná still keeps its top standard and is offering good snow conditions. Skiers are enjoying both sides of Mt. Chopok. The southern side offers all slopes open – black, red and blue ones. Entering the southern side at the new entering point of Krupová and the ability to ski on both sides of Mt. Chopok make the resort really attractive. This weekend, Chopok North is about to open the slope of Turistická, which is ideal for less experienced skiers. At the moment, the red slope from Konský Grúň to Rovná Hoľa is being prepared and should be open within next days. After this weekend, there will be 24 kilometres of ski slopes available on Mt. Chopok and 13.5 kilometres of slopes in the High Tatras.

High season has changed ski pass prices – they are cheaper by 5 EUR when compared to top season. Those who buy their ski passes via internet on www.gopass.sk will save considerably.
