Snowmaking on piste no. 33 will continue also on the following days from Monday to Tuesday and from Wednesday to Thursday. If the weather forecast for the upcoming period does not change, snow will be produced on other pistes on the southern side of Mt. Chopok as well – no. 36 Krupová – Srdiečko and no. 31 Srdiečko – Kosodrevina. Depending on the conditions that are required for the production of artificial snow (temperature, air humidity, wind and wind direction), the snowmaking process should be launched also on the northern side of Mt. Chopok and slopes no. 1a, 1b, 1c, i.e. the main route that leads from the top of Mt. Chopok (2,004 m above sea level) through Priehyba (1,380 m above sea level), as well as slopes at lower altitudes: Lúčky, Turistická, FIS and Biela Púť.
As for the High Tatras, snowmaking systems on the ski slopes in the resorts of Štrbské Pleso and Tatranská Lomnica have all been tested and are ready to be used for the first longer periods of frost that are expected to arrive in this locality at the beginning of the upcoming weekend. From 27th November, Hrebienok will be presenting a beauty of ice in the form of the popular Tatra Temple of Ice and hosting the unofficial Ice Sculpting World Championships called Tatry Ice Master on 29th – 31st January 2016.
The winter season begins officially in the resort of Jasná Nízke Tatry with a traditional party in the Happy End music club, this time in Hollywood style. A great Winter Music Opening takes place under Mt. Chopok on 5th December 2015. Local Tatra people are doing all they can to help mother nature prepare a good snow cover on the slopes so that the first skiing weekend could be launched soon and top world women skiers welcome in the Tatras at the Women´s Alpine Ski World Cup on 5th and 6th March 2016.
