It has been more than one and a half year since visitors to the region of Liptov started to spend their holidays in the indoor hall of the Tropical Paradise. Especially kids can´t imagine their days at Tatralandia without a wrecked pirate ship at a rock cliff or salt sea water with artificial waves. Tatralandia launched the summer season last Saturday and opened its summer pools and adrenaline attractions located in the area. Everybody who visits the 400-seat Medrano restaurant located near the already mentioned summer pools will love the magic of outdoor life in the open air, with endless views and a holiday-like atmosphere. The roof has a special design that resembles sails of a ship with atypical steal frames and arched stringers. The building is between 3 and 6 metres high, the steel structure weighs 43.2 tonnes and the roof made of special sailcloth has an area of 540 m2. The designers wanted to create an airy space with a clearly arranged catering facility.

“We were inspired by the name of the famous French circus Cirque Medrano, which was a type of amusement facility in Paris in the 19th century. The circus was like a mecca of artists, only the high society would come to see the show. It was exceptionally successful because its owners were constantly introducing innovations, technological inventions and following the latest trends. Our Medrano has a very interesting architectonic design which is similar to a partly open circus arena. There is an atypical structure made of special steel, whose roof resembles a sail of a ship. It suits perfectly to the overall image of our holiday destination, whose dominant Tropical Paradise is, on the other hand, known for a typical shell-like design. Medrano has an open storey that offers a beautiful view. And there, our customer can enjoy a rich offer of delicious fresh salads, traditional Slovak meals, fruit juices or desserts.“ This is how Marcel Števček, director of the gastro section of Tatry mountain resorts, a.s., described the Medrano restaurant.

The summer at Tatralandia is full of adventures, fun and various events. Visitors can use a special offer and spend 2 days at the water park for the price of one. Or if they buy a 1-day ticket to Tatralandia, they will get a 1-day ticket to Aqualand Moravia near Brno for free. Buying a ticket to Aquapark Tatralandia lowers the price of flying in the Superfly free fall simulator (2 minutes for 19 EUR with an Aquapark ticket).
