The resort of Tatranská Lomnica is opening the renewed red slope called “Esíčka” leading from the altitude of 1,751 m. Snow conditions on slopes in the High Tatras have finally improved, skiers can look forward to a sunny weekend with a current natural and man-made snow cover of 30-50 cm. The whole resort of Štrbské Pleso i.e. slopes: Solisko, Furkota, Esíčko, Interski, Juniorská and Turistická will be opened from Saturday. Slopes under Mt. Lomnický štít in the resort of Tatranská Lomnica offer good snow conditions in the central part and very good snow conditions in the lower, easier part. Skiers can enjoy red slopes of Esíčka, Čučoriedky Východ, Čučoriedky Západ and less difficult slopes of Štart Východ and Západ, Buková hora Východ, Buková hora Západ and Grand Slnečná. The weather should be on our side at the beginning of next week as well. At the moment, Tatranská Lomnica is preparing the last red slope to be opened soon – Generál. A popular freeride zone with the highest located and longest ski slope in Lomnické sedlo (saddle) is still waiting for enough natural snow. Fans of the black and most difficult slope will thus have to wait a couple of more days. The resort of Starý Smokovec has opened two slopes for families with children – Jakubkova lúka I. and II. And next weekend, the area of Hrebinok will host a 3-day festival of ice sculptures called Tatry Ice Majster 2014.

Morning Sunday skiing down from Skalnaté Pleso available on 26th January 2014 will cost 1 EUR and is meant for all early birds and fans of untouched slopes. All those who come to the resort of Tatranská Lomnica and buy a ski pass between 7:30 and 8:30, can use a new 15-person cable car to get to Skalnaté Pleso and ski down a new slope of Esíčka from 8:00 to 9:30 for 1 EUR only.
