There is about 40 cm of snow on groomed ski pistes, even more in some sections. If the weather stays on the side of the snowmaking plans, skiers might enjoy skiing as high as on top of Mt. Chopok, at the altitude of 2,004 metres. The official ski season launching will continue in the ski resort of Jasná on Saturday 2nd December – with a big Winter Music Opening party in the Happy End music club. There will be true kings of music on stage after 09:00pm, playing legendary hits of the famous Queen band. Show must go on, We will rock you, We are the Champion, Bohemia Rhapsody and other immortal hits will be changed to a fascinating show by the Queenie band – world Queen tribute. Queenie plays all around Europe and is one of top-class music bands playing this genre worldwide. The unique Queenie show will be joined by top Slovak DJs such as DJ EKG, EAST LUKE and PABLIK, dancers in spectacular costumes and their Credance – Baroque performance, Vertigo aerial acrobatics and the Adventure Strings music quartet. For more information about the Winter Music Opening, please visit www.jasna.sk

The winter season in the High Tatras will be launched by the most visited attraction – the Tatra Temple of Ice in Hrebienok for the fifth time in a row – on 8th December. This year, the basilica of ice is inspired by the Spanish cathedral of Sagrada Familia and pays tribute to family.

The cableways in the ski resort of Tatranská Lomnica in the High Tatras will be operating from Saturday 9th December. Some of the ski pistes are planned to be opened from the same date as well. For more details, please visit www.vt.sk
