FLATTACH (11th October 2024) The 2024/25 ski season at TMR resorts starts this weekend, with Mölltaler Gletscher in Carinthia, Austria, being the first resort to welcome skiers.
Good news for all skiers eagerly awaiting their first turns arrives in mid-October. “We’re starting with the iconic piste no. 3, Schareck, located on the glacier and beginning at an altitude of 3,122 metres. As we created significantly larger snow deposits before the summer and preserved a large amount of artificial snow from the previous season, the preparation has been easier and faster. The September snowfall also helped, bringing up to a metre of snow in the highest-located areas of the resort. Although rainy weather has complicated the situation recently, everything will be ready by Saturday for skiers to start the season on this 1.6-kilometre-long piste,” said Petr Nikl, the general manager of the Mölltaler Gletscher resort. The snowmaking infrastructure remains on standby across all major pistes, ready to expand the skiing offer as soon as possible. The Mölltaler glacier is a popular destination not only for recreational skiers but also for ski clubs and teams from Austria, Germany, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovenia.
