The key piece of news is that skiing has got the green light. “It is very important that national authorities have determined conditions based on which ski resorts can be opened. We will do our best to guarantee that our clients enjoy their skiing adventures to the fullest but can feel safe at the same time,” said Čeněk Jílek, COO of Tatry mountain resorts, a.s. (TMR). More details about precautions and measures in individual ski resorts are available on their websites. Anti-Covid safety modes (VTR – vaccinated, tested, recovered; fully vaccinated, recovered) will be checked in the resorts based on national rules – when selling ski passes online and offline or based on other requirements in the ski resorts.

The opening of the ski season in individual resorts is planned as follows: 3.12. Jasná (SK), 4.12. Štrbské Pleso (SK), 11.12. Tatranská Lomnica (SK), 17.12. Szczyrk (PL).

From today, skiers can buy 1-day and multi-day ski passes that are valid in all above mentioned resorts. “The ski pass advance sale similar to the flight ticket sale. The principle is very simple – the sooner you buy, the better is the price. This means that online shopping through GOPASS offers the best prices of 1-day and multi-day ski passes when compared to the prices at ticket offices in individual resorts. In addition, dynamic prices will be an important element to help us manage the occupancy of the resorts on individual days,” added Michal Brabec, TMR CCO.

Jasná, the biggest ski resort in Slovakia has a lot of news to introduce as well. The Pretekárska piste will be named after Petra Vlhová, the overall World Cup winner from this season and include an original photo point to remind of it, more cross-country skiing trails will be offered. The ski-in/ski-out SKI Záhradky hotel will be renewed, a new accommodation concept will be available on top of Mt Chopok – “A night in heaven”. There will be more shuttle busses and a new transport and parking concept will be created in cooperation with the Demänovská dolina village and the OO CR Región Liptov tourism organisation to reduce the traffic in Demänovská dolina. “Comfort parking” will be at disposal in Jasná and Tatranská Lomnica in the High Tatras, i.e. a limited number of the most comfortable parking spaces with parking guaranteed also on the busiest days offered through Gopass at a surcharge. In addition, parking will be chargeable in both resorts. Skiers with 1-day ski passes can park with discounts, PREMIUM Smart Season Pass holders can park for free.

Szczyrk Mountain Resort promises great fun to all skiers, including families with children who will love the weekend Academy of Max the Bear – group skiing lessons and the Sports academy during the Polish school holidays. The latter is meant for older kids to improve their technique and skiing between gates. A special K2 Skitouring Academy will be available as well.
