This will be the first event of this kind and size in the region of Liptov. The comeback of the fashion icon Lýdia Eckhardt to Liptov is connected with her memories related to this locality. “My family roots reach back to this region, my mother comes from Likavka and my father from Martinček. Although they went to the east to work, the rest of my family stayed here – in this beautiful region. My beloved grandparents who made my childhood in the region of Liptov unrepeatable will stay in my memories and my heart forever. I am very happy to meet my natives at least in this way, though my work,” confessed the fashion designer.
Lýdia Eckhardt continued explaining that the collection which should be introduced in Liptov Arena was going to be her biggest one ever, with the highest number of creations. “The show will be mainly a show of course but there will also be artists like the Mirror Family group, singers Ricco and Claudia, the Kimbombos Dance group. The topic of the whole show will be very positive for everybody because we will be not only dreaming but also making dreams come true. Dreams that many people ask me for in their letters, emails or via personal communication. Among the audience, there will be some guests who have dreamt about coming to this fashion show, girls who wish to experience the backstage atmosphere or to make a picture with the models will be living their dreams behind the scene. And we will also see some young girls who have always wanted to walk on our catwalk,” added Lýdia Eckhardt.
She claims that once our state borders had been opened and Slovak women as well as men had got many opportunities to travel abroad, they had become more fashion-aware and dressed very nicely those days. “My collection for the spring and summer of 2017 is full of colours, flowers and frills. There is a lot of muslin, silk, cotton but also lace and summer knitwear. We have used many flower elements as well as layering. Besides following the latest trends, my main trend is based on the needs and desires of my clients. I have tried to create a well-balanced collection which young and extravagant but also conservative ladies could choose from, and of course my mother too. If every lady who will be sitting in the audience gets attracted by at least one piece, I will feel happy and know that my work has a sense,” explained Lýdia Eckhardt.
To conclude the topic of dreams and dreaming, Lýdia Eckhardt added: “Let me wish all of you that your dreams come true but also that you can fulfill somebody else´s dream. Follow your dreams, face them. I wish all of you to stay healthy and embraced with love and friends because our life in this form is a big premiere and there will not be any repeated performance.”
Three sequences prepared on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Lýdia Exkhardt´s work are going to be presented during the fashion show: My beginnings, My First Fashion Shows and How a Collection is Made. For more details about the Dreams event, please visit Liptov Arena HERE.
