Szczyrk about to welcome the Mountain Bike World Cup

SZCZYRK (15. 5. 2024) Over the weekend of 18th – 19th May, the Szczyrk mountain resort and the Szczyrk Enduro Trails by Trek bike park are hosting the world’s top downhill riders, all thanks to the premiere of the Mountain Bike World Cup in Poland.

Races in three disciplines – Enduro, E-enduro and Downhill are taking place in the towns of Bielsko-Biala and Szczyrk.

Szczyrk, the largest ski resort in Poland, typically becomes a modern cycling complex in the summer, offering over 16 km of enduro trails. The Szczyrk bike park provides trails for beginners as well as advanced riders, Trek bike rentals and the Szczyrk Bike Academy by TREK. A convenient gondola cable car can take cyclists to the altitude of 1,000 metres above sea level, where the trails begin, but it is possible to walk also higher to 1,205 metres and take the HipHop Air blue trail or the Zbój red trail down.

However, a new trail is being created for the Mountain Bike World Cup, partly following the toughest Bestyja black trail, but the final part is in a completely different location. The finish line for the World Cup along with stands, large screens and exhibition spaces of the main race partners will be located below the gondola cable car. Teams from around the world will occupy the second huge car park for a few days. Enduro Trails organisers expect more than 80 competing teams!

In the heart of the resort, there is the stylish Alpine-style Kuflonka restaurant, where riders can replenish their calories after intense experiences. The centre also features a bike shop with the latest collections of various bike brands.

Programme:

Friday 17/05 Training

Saturday 18/05 Qualification and Semi-finals

Sunday 19/05 Finals
