High Tatras (19th January 2023) The popular international ice sculpting championships are coming back to the High Tatras after two years. The 9th TATRY ICE MASTER event takes place in Hrebienok on 21st and 22nd February 2023. Ice sculptors from 10 countries will be breathing life into 50 tonnes of ice and changing them into 35 unique sculptures in the course of 2 days.

Skilful sculptors and artists will be working with 50 tonnes of ice to create impressive pieces based on various motifs and topics. The ice sculptures will be lit after dark to emphasise their design and beauty. One group will be displayed next to the funicular station building, another one will be on display under the second “dome” cover next to the Tatra Temple of Ice. The sculptures under the cover – in the so-called Gallery of Ice Masters will be exhibited until the end of the winter season or until the end of April 2023. The sculptures in the open air will be there until they melt.

The public can join and vote for the best team of the 10 countries! If event visitors fill in their voting tickets and throw them into a voting box located in Hrebienok, they can win attractive prizes. The 9th International ice sculpting championships will be joined by teams of Slovakia, the Czech Republic, The Netherlands, Lithuania, Finland, Great Britain, Mongolia, Hungary, Poland and Germany. The Tatry Ice Master event will offer a varied supporting programme with games and competitions with great prizes.
