Bešeňová 13th April 2022 – The Tatry mountain resorts, a.s. (TMR) company expanded its portfolio and became the owner and operator of the Bešeňová water park.
TMR, a multinational company in the field of tourism, which operates mountain resorts, amusement parks and water parks, golf resorts and a hotel chain in 4 European countries made an agreement with EUROCOM Investment s.r.o., which operates the Bešeňová water park, to buy 100% of the shares of EUROCOM Investment, s.r.o. TMR acquired all of the shares via one of its subsidiary companies, i.e. Tatry mountain resorts PL, a.s. The purchase price arranged between both parties has not been announced. TMR used a bank loan to finance the acquisition.
The contract between TMR PL, which is a 100% subsidiary company of TMR, and Invest Liptov, s.r.o. was concluded on 31st March 2022. TMR PL bought 100% of the shares on 13.4.2022. “We have been cooperating with the owners of the Bešeňová water park for a long time and have done all utilisation activities through Gopass. Purchasing the shares and adding the water park to our portfolio means fulfilling our mutual contract. It is a logical consequence of our cooperation. We expect this step will improve the synergy within our company, help the water park develop better and enable to manage the water park together with Tatralandia on a quality level. We had been thinking about the purchase for longer, but the transaction was postponed due to the Covid pandemic,” informed Igor Rattaj, the TMR Chairman of the Board.
The history of the Bešeňová water park dates back to 1987, when the first of three drill holes was made. Geothermal water of 60.5°C rises as deep as 1,987 metres. The first pools for the public were opened in 1993. Today, the Bešeňová water park is a symbol of top-class wellness care and relaxation. It offers 4 outdoor geothermal pools, 4 private pools for hotel guests, a wave pool and a kid’s pool, the Atrium relaxation zone with 3 stainless-steel indoor pools, the Harmónia wellness centre, a 30-metre-high water slide tower with 6 water slides, which are more than 1 km long in total. In summer, there are also 6 fresh water pools and scuba diving around a wrecked ship. Accommodation is offered at the Galéria Thermal hotel, the Bešeňová hotel and the new Akvamarín hotel, all of them are part of the water park.
